In other news: Zeebarf and I just wrapped up a game for Comedy Central and we'll be starting on a real PC game soon!

We're taking a little break from the Small Favor series, but in a few months we'll most likely be releasing the last chapter, aptly titled "A Final Small Favor"... catch ya on the flipside kids.

Anyone who attended, (or more likely) read the transcript of Kongregate's panel on game design at Casual Connect, really needs to check out Untold Entertainment's response...

Another Small (sexual) Favor

Posted by RiftMaster Jun. 18, 2009 @ 6:23 PM EDT

Development on the next chapter of A Small Favor is burning along at full speed. This next installment is way bigger, smoother, and sexier than the first game. We're introducing tons of new features to the gameplay as well as the engine itself. We'll soon be giving all the members of our leet mailing list exclusive screenshots of the game in action (and later the beta of the game itself). But for now we're giving all of you a look at one of the new features of the game. Since the new game is geographically huge we're introducing overworld maps. Dig it or die!

A giant "thank you"

Posted by RiftMaster May. 13, 2009 @ 1:27 AM EDT

...to all of you who helped make "A Small Favor" the daily feature, helped it get such a high score on NG, and took the time to review the game. Also a big thank you to our beta testers who helped us work out all the kinks in the game. I'm deeply moved at how well the game has been recieved, and I promise you the next game will be everything you enjoyed about the first and more!

By the way, we've already got a big head-start on the development of Part 2, which we are going to call "Another Small Favor". We'll soon be giving members of our ultra-cool mailing list, exclusive screenshots, movies, and eventually beta versions of the game itself. Sign up to the mailing list on Zee's site: zeebarf.com!!

Finally, this makes me happy.

New game dropping soon!

Posted by RiftMaster May. 8, 2009 @ 1:48 AM EDT

Happy to report that Zeebarf and I will be releasing "A Small Favor" very soon. Most likely the weekend!
I couldn't be more proud of how our first collaboration turned out. I hope you all get a kick out of it. A big THANK YOU goes out to our massive army of beta testers. The beta is now closed, and the game has reached gold development status. I encourage you to join our mailing list on zeebarf.com, since we will be working on a new game immediately after this one launches and we'll need beta testers for that one too. Members of the mailing list will be in our inner circle and gets news about our forthcoming projects before anyone else too!

Stay tuned...

Germany

Posted by RiftMaster Jan. 13, 2009 @ 2:26 AM EST

So tomorrow I get on a plane bound for Dresden, Germany.
I'm trading one cold, chilly, frozen land for another cold, chilly, frozen land.
But other than that it should be a blast. I really wanted to make it out to the London Meetup while im on the other side of the pond, but alas it looks like it will not be. Just outta curiosity though, any cool NG peeps currently staying/residing in East Germany? If so maybe we can meet up for a stein of bier!

I meant to post a 2008 retrospect (cause it was quite a year) but I got busy with a buncha projects (one of them being that "2008: A Joe Six Pack Odyssey" game that me and Zeebarf did for Comedy Central)

I promise when I get back I will report on my adventures in Deutschland, and spill the proverbial beans on all the amazing things brewing over at Diverge Creations. 2009 is shaping up to be damn amazing!

Also I'm really going to try to make it out to GDC in March. Who all is hitting up that event?

Metallica

Posted by RiftMaster Dec. 4, 2008 @ 2:22 PM EST

Just got back from seeing them in Vancouver. I was really impressed. They put on a damn good show.
We were right up at the barricade, only a few feet from James and the boys. Near the end of the show they dropped hundreds of Metallica beach balls from the ceiling. Very cool.
Lamb of God were awesome as usual too (saw them in 2006 when they opened for Slayer).
